冬天，伊斯坦堡。一架來自德黑蘭的飛機剛剛降落。蕾拉和沙罕帶著 4 歲兒子曼尼成功逃離伊朗。他們犯了死罪。陷入情網的蕾拉和沙罕各自有婚姻，然而在伊朗，他們無法得到離婚許可，通姦只有死刑一途。因此，兩人無法讓兒子得知是私生子。逃離伊朗之前，曼尼一直以為自己的親生父親是他的「叔叔」。 
 
It is winter in Istanbul. A plane from Teheran has just landed. A couple, Leila and Sahand, have succeeded in fleeing Iran with their four-year-old son, Mani. Leila and Sahand had a secret love affair while being married to other people, and in Iran, they were not allowed to get divorced. Neither could they tell their son that he was an illegitimate child since adultery can be punished with the death penalty in Iran. So, up till the escape, Mani had only known his biological father as "uncle".
